you know those extended elemental charts that go like fire, water, earth, air, light, darkness, etc. and always throw in something that's technically already covered by the others, like ice (water) or metal (earth) or isn't technically an "element" but sounds cool (mind, soul, time). well i think that flesh should count as its own distinct element in this configuration too.

"balder than she remembered" is a great catelyn pov quote on its own but also could be proof that stannis started going bald pretty young. i mean he's only 35 max here and it must have been some years since cat could have seen him previously--already somewhat balding--bc it's not like he was ever known to visit the north before asos/adwd. so fitting that stannis is not only the only known bald baratheon, he's also the type of guy to start losing his hair in his late teens/early 20s at most. maybe that one officialish art of him looking older than 19 during the siege of storm's end isn't that off. art true to the spirit of the text should have young adult stannis with a noticeable receding hairline at least.

mmm throwaway conversation between Dan and Danny that popped into my head that I had to write out:

personal headcanon: only the archdragon of each arcanum is capable of human speech

none of the other dragons talk. none of them. ever. in the whole 7 seasons, only the archdragons speak. and we do not know for certain that Zubeia was able to speak a human language while Avizandum was alive, she could have gained that ability after he died.

God just the fact N doesn’t heal from his trauma in a linear way and if anything is self destructive in the way he handles it especially in BW2 staying in the room that is basically the physical representation of his trauma (AND technically repeating his trauma just self inflicted instead of from an abusive father) makes me insane.

Like normally kids media would traumatize a character and then after like one or two events go “They’re doing much better now and making strives in recovery!” And just depict it as either a non issue now that it’s been “addressed” or at most show them going to therapy or something. But no Pokémon has the balls to go “Yeah you’re not mentally recovering from this stuff that easily, if anything you seek comfort from the things that hurt you and you very much will inflict that pain on yourself again for the sake of stability and normalization”

Like him staying in his room indefinitely in BW2 is most likely just a mechanic so you can rematch him and talk to him and obviously the story isn’t endless so at some point he has to run out of things to do (Kinda like how Cheren in BW1 is in that cave indefinitely after the story) but the fact he says he’s in the castle to wait for the protagonist, SPECIFICALLY HIS ROOM. Like damn Pokémon you really have the balls to make N basically inflict mental self harm on himself like that it really is just an emotional gut punch
